Upgrading motherboard HELP!

I recentley bought a new mother board. :Asus SLI Deluxe. My current mobo is an Asus SLI.

My problem is:

I dont want to wipe my hard drive and reistall windows os. I have too my programs and it would take me forever to install all my settings and programs.

Is there a way I can just update my bios info and keep all my programs and settings.

The upgrade is to the same manufacture and board name... It is just the deluxe version and it comes with 4 additional SATA2 ports.

If it is the same chipset and layout (other than the 4 extra SATA2 ports) you should be fine just plugging in your components the way they were connected to the old board. The exception is if the new board addresses the SATA ports differently and Windows is not able to 'find itself' on the port that you connect your boot hard drive into on the new board...

well the boot drive is just a standard Pata IDE cable. I wont be using the new SATA2 ports... Im just waiting for another drive to come in so i can backup all my stuff before i install the new board.
