I am planning on adding a 1 GB chip onto an ABIT BE7-R(intel 845PE chipset?). This MB has two banks for RAM, but has three slots. Currently, I have a 512 MB stick of DDR PC2700 Kingston Valueram installed. I believe it is double sided? Will I be able to add and use a stick of generic, unbuffered(also double sided?) 1 GB DDR PC2700 chip on this MB? Would this work as long as I keep a stick in slot one and the other in slots two or three?
I am not very clear on the single/double sided vs. buffered/unbuffered. Perhaps someone can clarify this in addition to answering my questions. By the way, I would like to use both sticks. Not just substitute one for the other. Thanks for reading.
