Upgrading MB&CPU, MUST keep Win2k

I will be putting in a new MotherBoard & CPU by next week, but I have to keep my current hard drive intact, atleast my OS. Is this possible?? (have to keep because I got win2k free, but dont have a CD, and I am definetly not going to ME/98 ever again)

You will likely be stuck blue screen with an error about using a different HDD controller
if your system uses IDE to boot from.
Might even do it if you use a separate scsi HDD controller - not sure.
I had the same problem trying to go from a BX to a i815e chipset.
Sounds like a real problem as you can't reinstall unless you go buy a copy of Win2k.
If your new system has the same chipset then you might get away with it, but I would
not recommend doing the upgrade if you can't afford the loss of the OS.
Sorry
