Upgrading laptop touch pad question

I am thinkin of upgrading my laptop eraser head mouse to the touchpad, If i can buy the touchpad and a new keyboard would it be possible? Is all I have to do it plug in the ribbon? I really would like the touchpad so let me know...btw I have a Gateway Solo 9300 that is fairly new but for some reason came with the eraser 🙁
 
I don't think you will be able to do that. The whole top half of the laptop is different between those 2 devices.
