Upgrading Laptop RAM

Hi guys,

Im thinking of a Sony ultra portable laptop but its coming with only 512MB and Im thinking of uprading that to 1GB (adding another stick). Is it really easy to do that or shall I fork out the outrageous amount being asked for by Sony?

Cheers

See what www.crucial.com has to say using their memory selector. If they offer RAM, it's guaranteed to work.

Also download the PDF for the laptop to see how painful it is to install, for example on an old iBoot G4 we have at work you must remove the keyboard and wifi card to get access to the memory slots.

My suggestion is that you order the Sony with the 1GB already installed. My previous experiences with Sony Vaio's is that it not easy to install the second stick. The Sony is not user-friendly when upgrading. Checkout a repair manual and you will see why.
