I want to replace on of my 256MB sticks of ram with a 512MB. It has Centrino processor, according to Sisoftware it's 4x 100MHZ FSB but yet the RAM inside is pc2700, does that mean I will be able to use pc2100 RAM mixed with the other 256MB stick that's pc2700? I just want to know this because of a deal I can get.

edit: Also, it says Max Memory Speed: 2x 133MHZ.

Hello "AnonymousOne" :p
To better tell what RAM you need, we need to know what chipset your Centrino notebook uses: is it the 855GM, 855PM, or 855GM-E? This makes a big difference. From what screen shot, Sandra says "855GM/855GME." If you download and install Everest Home Edition, this program should tell you exactly what chipset you have.
Just to be technically correct, first of all you don't have a "Centrino" processor. Centrino is a marketing branding that specifies that a laptop uses the Pentium M processor, Intel 855 chipset, and Intel wireless card. It looks as though you have an Asus notebook.
The chipset matters because each supports different memory:
855GM: PC2100 (DDR266, 2x133) only
855GM-E & 855PM: PC2700 (DDR333, 2x166)

A lot of manufacturer's put PC2700 memory into the 855GM notebooks, so don't use that as your only indicator. Use Everest Home Edition and double check, but it looks like you have the GM chipset and thus only need PC2100 RAM. Write back with more questions!

Then go ahead and find yourself some PC2700! You might see some in the FS/FT forums here. That or I think Best Buy has a 512MB on sale for $65 after mail-in rebates. Check that out, 'cuz after rebates its a hot deal.
