upgrading laptop cpu

i have an hp 2500+ and once the athlon mobile 3000+ or even 3200+ comes out, i'd like to buy the mobile cpu and replace my aging 2500+. will i be able to do that? also, do you think my motherboard will support speeds that high? my model is an hp pavilion ze4600.

I doubt that AMD will put out any higher speed mobile XP chips, but you should be able to replace the CPU provided you can figure out how to take the ah heck apart.

EDIT: Do yourself a favor and get another stick of RAM for that thing...

I agree with both statements I doubt you would notice much between a 2500 or anything highier. What you would dramatically notice is more RAM.

Get the ram like the above said and SAVE your money on the CPU.

Your talking extremely minimal performance gains.

At least in my view.

o ok, because thats the last thing i would upgrade on my laptop if i were to get it, especially since it wouldnt come out for a while.

and i plan to get a dvd burner for my laptop too. its about $130 at newegg for a toshiba one.

btw, wuts the point of AMD selling their mobile cpu's if they dont want people to overclock other then for upgrading a laptop?
