Upgrading Keeping MY AGP Card

I am looking to upgrade my computer, budget is a main concern. Looking for best performance without spending a lot. So I have an existing machine with a GeForce 6600GT AGP card. I definitely want to keep that being it cost me $300 way back when. So..I am looking at the Athlon 3800 X2. Price is great. Is there much difference going with a 4200? The MOBO that I have found is a Gigabyte K8U-939. Is the best board for what I am looking for? It's cheap, seems to be stable from the few customer reviews I have read. Is it the best chipset to pair with this CPU? Obviously using an AGP card limits my choices immensely. Any thoughts are greatly apprecuated.

Thanks All!

do some searching, lots of threads on this... i went with an epox 9nda3... oc's well, been real stable...

I am using an MSI K8N NEO2-F and I love it. My Opty likes it too!!!🙂 I just got the platinum version (same board with an extra built gigabit network adapter and firewire) off ebay for $15+shipping!!! Took a chance and it works great!!!!

The Asrock 939 Sata 2 has both an AGP and a PCI E slot on the same board for when you feel like upgrading to a PCI E card and don't want to shell out for another mobo.

 Another vote for the ASROCK 939 DualSATA2. Works well with my old 6600GT AGP, and my newer x1800XT PCIe
