after transfering system files to the new larger drive i get the windows activation message can't verify hardware configuation.

the hardware hash is identifying the larger drive and the diferent volume number. I'm running corp xp pro and am wondering if there is anyway to re-install xp without losing configation data.

thanks

Yes. Do a DOS-based drive to drive copy with a DriveCopy 4.0 boot disk-based program. That way everything including the registry is exactly cloned, and XP should not know the difference. It is not supposed to need a reactivation for a HDD change anyway. ???

You can also do it with Ghost or Drive Image.
