My RIG :

Intel Core 2 Duo E4500 @ 2.2Ghz OC to 2.42Ghz
2GB RAM
Nvidia 8600GT 256MB V-RAM

what should I upgrade to be capable to run Crysis High Settings, Fallout Maxed out, etc?

I was thinking of upgrading the 8600GT to this : http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16814127381http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127381 <-- The Most Powerful Card I can afford right now.

So my new rig would be :

Intel Core 2 Duo E4500 @ 2.2Ghz OC to 2.42Ghz
2GB RAM
MSI Nvidia 9800GT 512MB V-RAM

Your video card is your biggest draw back... I'd upgrade that first. That video card you linked shows as deactivated.

Grab another 2GB or RAM if you are using Vista (heck even if your not). It's cheap.

You should be asking this Q in the Video section of the forum.

Since you are here; it really depends on the resolution you are trying to run. The 9800GT with your processor is not going to run Crysis on high settings unless you drop down to 1024x768 (give or take) My son had a similar system (E4600 OC'd to 3.0 w/8800GT, 4 GB RAM) and it would run Crysis on mostly high settings with some tweaks at 1400x900.

How much can you get that MSI card for?

Tigerdirect currently has XFX 9800GT and the BFG 9800GT OC+ for $100 after rebate (both are $30 rebates). With live cashback another $19.5 off for a total of $80.5

The video card is the most important thing for you to upgrade, but you should be able to get more performance out of the E4500 as well. Mine, even when undervolted, goes to 2.93 GHz.

If your not gonna use the extra gigahert you have on that processor, would you mind lending it to me? I'm only at 3.15 with my E4300, could really use the boost to 4.15. Lmk. (But seriously, I could get 1.8 -> 2.7 on a $57 CDN motherboard, that 2.42 overclock shows you know how to do it but not much more. It's like you stumbled across a cave filled with ancient treasures but 30 seconds in you decided you had enough.

As for the 9800, if you overclock to over 3ghz and get that card, you could play at playable frames in crysis at 1680x1050 and high settings (not very high). I'm saying reasonable, not amazing. You could play fallout 3 at 1920x1200 maxed quite smoothly. Actually you might wanna spend $20 and buy 2 more gigs of ram too.

If you need help overclocking that CPU, just let us know. I'm sure you could get it up to at least 3GHz.

Well I surely need help.. I am afraid of overclocking more =/ I have an ASUS motherboard that can overclock my CPU up to 30% I think (that would mean 2.8Ghz) is that enough? Thank you
