I would personally sell all of what you have and do a complete overhaul, but that's just me.

You can sell the motherboard, cpu, video card and ram for about $220 (ebay). Add that to the $250 you already have ($470 total) and you can purchase yourself a cheap core 2 duo setup with a nice graphics card to boot.

Abit IP35-E - $80
Used E6600 - $125
2gb ddr2 ram - $30
Nvidia 8800gt 512mb - $220
Beer - $5
10 Cheeseburgers - $10

Total: $470

You've basically upgraded your other components and paid for a nice new video card :)

$250 is quite a bit to spend on a video card for a system like that. What games/type of games do you play? Can you upgrade the video card now and upgrade the rest of the system later? Are you severely price-limited so you must do all upgrades right now?

If you're just getting a video card, push the envelope a few bucks and get an 8800gts 512. There are several deals on them if you can wait on mir's:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/...=GeForce+8800GTS+(G92)

alternatively, 8800gt has gone down enough in price that you can get under 250 pretty easily with no mir at several sites.

Almost all games that are coming out now are dual core optimized so upgrading your cpu first is the way to go. Then get a video card to fit your budget. Selling your old and building new isn't such a bad idea either.

Im with sisq0kidd on this one, except i'd spend $5 on cheeseburgers and $10 on alcohol. ;)
