Hi,

My friend has an original Geforce3 and he wants to upgrade the card. His budget is around $150 and needs a good decent card for gaming. He's eyeballing a Nvidia 5600ultra. I suggest an ATI 9600pro. What else would be a good buy? I know USED card can be bought cheap, but he wants a brand new card. So it's limited to what you can get at the store or online store.

9600pro is faster than a FX5600 ultra in most scenarios. If you live near a Fry's (and it looks like you do since you're in San Jo) go there tomorrow morning for they have the FX5600 ultra (flip chip) BFG card for $98.99. Now thats a hard price/performance to beat for a DX9 card.
