upgrading from windows 10 to windows 11

Is it worth upgrading specially for gaming performance only? Any other benefit of upgrading and also if i do upgrade how do i make it look the UI just as windows 10? Windows 11 upgrade is available for free through windows update. Also can i install it through usb drive or not possible?

You can do a clean install of it but make sure to get your 10 windows key before starting.
I like to use Rufus to create the iso.
Are you already using a MS account or local only? they have been making it more difficult to use local. Early during setup there is an option to use old UI, gives a little more flexibility during format volume creation. If already using a MS account ignore this.

What aspects of the W10 UI are important to maintain? I can't remember if 10 had the centered start button.

Also what CPU are you using? W11 was heavily designed for Alder Lake chips. Thread Director for the P and E cores. My nephew refused to goto 11 after buying a 12900k so his NVME drive is basically sitting there waiting for the HDD with OS on it to do it's thing. He didn't back up anything from this one HDD that his stream stuff was on so that was his reasoning. 🤦‍♂️ I believe alot of his "performance issues" are related to that and not the internet.

List your system and does it pass compatibility check? (assuming is does, also makes easier)

I use ms account and key is digitally activated. I have i9 10900k and rtx 4070 and 32 gb ram

I don't see a reason not to if you already use a MS account. Some things are in different places, but you can get rid of all the notifications on the sys tray, also the start menu. One drive requires to set default start up apps. edge needs to be set to desired browser. It walks you though it.
I would advise to download all needed drivers onto a 2nd usb drive MOBO chipset, lan, gpu, ect. Just so you can install them asap. Whatever specific to your mobo like asmedia or realtek devices.

I just do not like the MS media creation tool to make the iso, just personal preference.

There is a taskbar behavior option and its mid way down to move from centered to left side.

Try the upgrade first so that it keeps your win.old folder so you could revert back if you decide to. Or make image of current install to restore.

Well the main benefit is that you will still get security updates. Support for Windows 10 ended yesterday.

If you upgrade, rather than a clean install, you can continue to use a local account. None of the PC's I have upgraded to Win11 have asked, or required that I create/use an MS account.

You can use Startallback to make the UI look like any previous version, or a combination, or completely custom. Cost is $4.99, 2 keys for $8.99, or 3 keys for $11.99.
I find it well worth it, just so I didn't have to listen to my wife complain about the new UI.

i hava retail key of windows 10 and it is digitally linked to my ms account so i use ms account

Well I also answered your two other questions...I did forget to mention startallback is the only way in Win11 to return the quick launch menu, which to me is a requirement for windows, no mater the version.
