First let me state I dont care who has the fast CPU or GPU. I'm all about a price that sits rights with me and the preformance I need. I got the Opt becuase I could OC it easy with stock HS and valve ram. I really want something Dual core so ican more than 1 thing at once with out the slow downs.
I was really consider got with the new intel chips. The things that turned me off is the motherboards out for it are not that great right now and the price for them (+250) and I will need new memory. That about $600 for the whole setup. For X@ upgrade i can speed about $200. NOt he intel setup the cpu would be much faster. THe only thing i do wiht my PC is game and DVD encoding. FOr the dvd the intel is the way to go, but for gaming, I think the $400 spent on a great video card would help out more. I currently got a 6800ultra (got it cheap on trade). More background
Does my solution make since?
If your a AMD or intel fan boy just skip this. I want piont from people that understand a sitituation and not some fan boy or thoses that think if its not SLI they your just not gaming.

AM2 is just out of the question for me right now. If geting new motherbaord and memory I will jsut go intel
