Upgrading from non-touch Windows 7 laptop to Windows 10, worth it?

I am considering upgrading from non-touch Windows 7 laptop to Windows 10. The laptop runs great on Windows 7 and I have no complaints.

However, I'm wondering if I should upgrade to Windows 10 before the free upgrade offer expires 6/29.

Is it worth the upgrade, or should I stick with Windows 7?

You could upgrade and save the win10 key, then revert to win 7 and have the key ready when and if you decide to upgrade later. That's what I did on my laptop.

You can have it both ways if you get another drive. Clone the existing 7 OS. Then upgrade one of them.

I would definitely upgrade if you plan to keep the laptop for longer than Win7 will be supported by MS (2020)

Do the upgrade, if you don't like it, you can always revert to 7. But that way you've got the free upgrade to 10 locked in if you decide to jump to it again later on.

I run Windows 10 on my desktop PC and my laptop, neither of which are touch capable. Works just fine.

It isn't necessary at all to have touch support for Windows 10. Windows 8 almost felt too heavy on the touchscreen emphasis and always felt a bit clunky with a keyboard/mouse IMO. Windows 10 isn't overbearing like that and strikes me as better balanced and keyboard/mouse friendly (although you can switch it to a tablet mode for a more touch-centric interface as well).

Yup you need to get W10 reserved and installed, then you can just uninstall/goback to W7 within 30 days. After 30 days, it deletes the W7 backup data. Might as well 'get' a free upgrade while it's offered you don't have to actually use it.
