Upgrading from Canon Rebel XT

Hi All -

I was looking to upgrade from my 7-year old Rebel XT to something a little more modern. I'm going to stick with Canon, as I have several lenses (a Tamron 28-70 f/2.8, a Canon 200mm f/2.8L, and a Tamron 17-35mm f/2.8-3.6 (but this I'm probably going to replace with the Canon 10-22mm, as I've never been happy with the 17-35mm)).

Would I be better off going with a 60D or something from the Rebel series? I like to shoot mainly architecture and landscapes, in all sorts of lighting, but have occasionally shot people, and sometimes go for nature things (birds & other animals). It seems like the 60D is a good price these days at ~$600 for the body, but my budget would probably go as high as $800 for a body.

Thanks for the input.

I think an EOS T5i camera is a good one. I haven't own one but I hear some good reviews. So easy to travel with it than a 60D.

Hm... seems like a good choice. Being lighter is certainly a plus. I've never felt bogged down by any of my equipment, but I wouldn't want to start now.

Anyone else have any opinions?

I went from a Rebel XT to an EOS 70D in September and I love it. It is a huge improvement but I am sure a T5i would be too.

A small update: I just purchased a T5i - I think it will be a great upgrade from my 7 year old Rebel XT, especially in lower-light conditions.
