Upgrading From ASRock P67 Extream6

I got the 3-year-old system with P67 Extream6 MB with Core I7 2600K / LGA 1155.

I like to use this with HTC VR and looks like the only bottleneck is the PCI bus for a good graphics card. What is a good LGA 1155 compatible MB that has PCI 3.0 or should I give up and get a new MB / CPU

Thanks

Jay

PS: And it looks like no one makes a LGA 1155 MB any more ?? (I was looking at newegg)

LGA1155 is dead. Intel platforms have a short production life of 1-2 years. When you bought that 3 years ago, it was at the very end of it's life. LGA1151 (current) will likely start ending it's life in roughly another year as I'm sure Intel will move on to another platform (that's been their SOP for a while now).

You could use that system (over-clocked) for another 1-2 years with a good video card. However, with VR you will most likely need to upgrade at that point to keep it as an enjoyable experience.

PCI-E 3.0, and Sandy Bridge? LOL, it doesn't support it. (SNB-E did, unofficially, with some vendor's BIOSes. But not the mainstream SNB platform.)
