Upgrading from a PII 400. How does this look?

I already have the Terratec DMX 6Fire 24/96 Audio Card with the Cambridge MegaWorks 510D speakers and a 19" Trinitron from Hitachi. I also have a mouse and keyboard that work great. Right now I have a PII400 with 384 PC100 SDRAM, a Geforce2MX and a 10GB IBM HD. I'm hoping for a huge speed increase with the following:

I really didn't want to go over $1500, but its not the end of the world. How does it look to you?

I myself am sitting on a PII 400 with 256meg ram. Windows XP runs pretty decent on here

Have you ever considered Samsung optical drives? They have a better outer appearance IMO.

And that's a very nice rig I might add. Why did you go with the Chaintech motherboard?

seems kinda expensive..... wouldnt go for a P4 chip unless u get the new HT ones...
