Hello.

I am thinking about upgrading my Video Card to something better. I have an older Dell 8100 with 1gb of rdram 800 ram and a 250 watt power supply and a p4 1.3ghz. I am wondering what my options are. I think thinking about spending 200.00 and using a vid card that doesn't need an external power connector as well.

Thanks,
Hal.

hmmm well with that system (1.3fgz P4?....man that thing would get eaten alive by the 1ghz p3's) u are seriously cpu limited even with a ti4400

and i see ur with rdram which is now jus a waste of money coz ddr is cheaper and faster (intel fools) so upgrading is gonna be even harder

i would seriously consider upgrading cpu/mobo/ram there is no way ur current rig will be able to get the most out of a new card....sorry

actually u may be able to pick up an old (new) p4 board that handles rdram (intel 850 chipset) like the gigabyte p4 titan boards, and then maybe pick up a newer "NORTHWOOD" P4 of around 2.4ghz

i bet u could swing that for under 200....ie in the FS forum or on ebay or something

I can get the CPU up to 2ghz depending on if I use an upgrader which would give meup to 2.4ghz. But I am thinking about getting a new rig as well.
