Anyone run a newer video card with a later model Quad cpu? Getting the bug and my cpu seems to keep up but my video card is a couple generations behind. Was looking at the 6850's and wanted to get some feedback. Do not want to spend over $200. Thanks & Merry Christmas!

HD 6850 is a great upgrade over the 4870, I say this from experience 🙂

IMO no it isnt unless you get it for pretty cheap. its only about a 35-40% upgrade in performance. if he is at 1920 then it will be worth it though since 512mb is already a limitation too.

Currently at 1680x1050; max resolution for the Dell 2209WA

Chances are, the 560 will not be $200 or less. Your better off to purchase a new card now. I'd say the 560 is going to be between $250/$300. Probably like $279.

I'd say go with the HD 6850 and OC it, my sapphire version does 900 core/1100 memory easily on stock voltage, can go even higher according to some other benchmarks and folks here.

Even @ 1080p, gameplay is extremely smooth for me.
