Upgrading from 2GB of DDR2 for Win7

I have the following system, which I primarily use for games (and a bit of word processing/web browsing), everything is stock:
ABIT IP35 PRO Motherboard
EVGA 640 8800GTS 640 Video
E6600 2.5GHz Processor
G.SKILL 2x1GB DDR2 800
Bunch of old mix-matched HDDs

It's getting on four years old, but I was hoping to make it last another couple of years with a few upgrades. I am putting Win7 on, and getting an SSD soon.

Question #1: Is it worth upgrading my memory from 2GB? I was leaning towards yes.

Question #2: Any opinions on if I should upgrade to 4GB or 6GB? Is there a problem mixing existing 2x1GB pair and 2x2GB pair?

Thanks for opinions from people who know more then me!

Add 4GBs (2 x 2GB), making sure to buy the same specification as you are now running.
Same speed, same voltage, same latency.

Worth it. DDR 3 prices are ridiculously low. I just got 8 GB of DDR3 for a laptop for $65. I'm not sure about DDR2, but I'd check the for sale thread.
