upgrading firebird and keeping extensions?

Is there a way to keep my extensions installed after upgrading to a new nightly firebird installation? everytime I update it, I need to then redownload whatever extensions I may have had installed previously. maybe i'm missing something here....

According to the instructions, if you install the extensions to your profile (only some extensions give you this option), then they'll stay.
