Upgrading CPU and steppings

Hi all, i want to upgrade my E6600@3.2 gHz to a Q9550 CPU. My mobo is a MSI P965 platinum mobo and according to MSI's website this mobo (with latest BIOS 1.8)is compatible with the C1 stepping of the Q9550 processor. Now the latest stepping of the Q9550 is the E0 stepping, will this E0 stepping be recognized and work with my mobo although only C1 compatibility is listed on the website?

Forget about your mobo if that is an option; get the Gigabyte UD3 series of boards. These boards put ALL other boards to shame in the 775lga ENTHUSIAST market. I am thinking about selling off my Asus Maximus II Formula board as I just received my UD3R board from UPS today...

A guy on the XS forums hit 620fsb with his Q9650 on the first try and got into windows...
