I am upgrading my Socket 939 motherboard/CPU/memory to a Core2 Duo (maybe a Quadcore) system. I am handing my old motherboard/CPU/memory down to my wife, who is currently using an XP 2500+ on a withering NF7-M.

My questions:

1. Will her current Antec TruePower 330W PSU be adequate to run this CPU and a Geforce 6600 GPU and one 80GB PATA drive? She doesn't have any PCI boards at all.

2. Will my Seasonic SuperTornado 400W PSU adequately handle my new Core2, 2 GB Ballistix, GeForce 7600GT, 2 120GB PATA drives and old PCI TV Card?

I guess if the answer to #2 is no, then #1 doesn't matter. If I do need to replace one or the other of the PSU's, I need a QUIET dependable PSU. Not looking to break the bank here either, though I know you get what you pay for.

I'm looking at Fortron Source single fan PSU if I need to replace her Antec.

Thanks!!

My Antec Smartpower 2.0 350w power supply ran a:
Opteron dual core 1.8@2.5ghz / x1900xt / 2 gig ddr500 / 1HHD+1DVDR just fine for 1.5 years and no crashes

I'm now running a Antec Truepower Trio 430 with:
e6600@3.4ghz / x1900xt / 2 gig ddr2@906 / HDD+DVDR
month on this with no issues

You never say what mobo/cpu/mem your handing down....
I will say the 6600 doesn't use much juice, so your good there on a 330W.
