I'm going to upgrade my computer by ordering parts of newegg next week. I just wanted some advice and opinions on my upgrade. I've been building computers for a couple years now but just recently am I getting into pc gaming. I am going to be playing games (GTA S.A., HL2, etc) but notin' too much. I want Asus components because of their quality and dependibility.

Current Rig:

Antec Case
Tt 480W P.S. (24-pin compatible)
Asus A7N8X-E Mobo
2500 XP O'C to 3200+
-using Asus Star Ice cooler
80 gig. WD HDD. 7200 8mb cache
64 mb MX4000 (pathetic I know)

Upgrade:
Asus A8N-E mobo
3000+ venice (going to o'c)
Asus 6600GT (will try to o'c)

I don't want SLI at this point in time. I'm going to wait for next gen Nvidia cards and buy a nice one then. Anyone else have the Asus mobo or video card? Would love feedback / opinions / comments / anything

Good choice of parts. The Venices are excellent overclockers, and I think you'll be very happy with that mobo and video card as well.

If you are planning to overclock, the NForce4 based motherboards are better than the via chipset based ones. Have a look at the A8N-E or A8N-SLI. They may be more expensive, but (IMHO) it's worth it.

EDIT: Whoops, I was looking at your "current rig". Nice choice of components. The ASUS videio card will cost more than other brands, but it will probably overclock better aswell.
