I'm upgrading the motherboard, CPU, and VGA card on my system. Do I need to do a clean install of the OS on the hard drive, or can I just piece the system back together and assume it will work?

I'm currently running a P4 2.6 and switching to an AMD 64 platform and adding an NVIDIA 7600GT.

Any advice you have would be appreciated!

as ScrapSilicon said, it's possible to keep the OS, but it is usually far less work and a far better idea (in terms of stability, compatibility, driver issues, your sanity, etc) to just do a clean install.
