What's the best way to upgrade to the newest ATI Catalyst drivers on a Windows XP system? Do I need to do anymore to get rid of the older version than uninstall it from Add/Remove Programs before I install the newest version?

I uninstall from Add/remove programs and install new ones. So far so good for me.

Not the best way... still files in your registry. DriverCleaner2 does the job to fix that. Download it, installl... self explanatory. Reboot, install new drivers, gg you have 3.10's ;) good luck

I agree the best way is to use Driver Cleaner 2.7 ,it always finds some old ATI/Nvidia files that are always left behind, follow the instructions in the read me file and you won`t go wrong.

This has worked well for me too. But the next time I am going to try the ATI Catalyst Uninstaller program.

3rd party driver cleaners are so ye olde school. CAT Uninstaller is included in the driver packages now and should be used. It simply does what it is supposed to.

Driver Cleaner is updated now and then and has Cab cleaners included for 2K/XP service packs plus options for cleaning driver files for Nvidia,3dfx,SiS,Creative,Realtek etc to name a few, very handy program to have around.

Since the 3.8's or 3.9's, ATi has included an uninstall feature (under add/remove programs in control panel) that works fine. Driver Cleaner 2.7 is not a bad way to remove drivers either.
