Is it possible? My laptop came WXGA, but I see part numbers available for the model (through ebay) that are WXGA+. Would it be possible to just get that and plug it in or do they use separate connectors?

It would probably be possible but is it worth it? What laptop do you have and what is the cost of the WXGA+ screen? It will most likely be best to save your money to buy a new laptop later or get a desktop LCD (if you use it at a desk most of the time)
 
It was actually pretty cheap ($175), but I checked with the seller and it actually was WXGA not WXGA+. It was mislabelled.
