Upgrading a Gateway FX6800-01E

Hello.

I got a Gateway FX6800-01E a few years back and I'm needing to upgrade to play SWTOR.

Gateway FX6800-01E
Core I7-2.66 GHZ
3GB RAM
ATI 4850 -512 MBram
500 w power supply

For xmas my dad shipped me a EVGA GeForce GTX 560ti 1 gig.

I know I need to get more RAM, but I was wondering if its worth upgrading a OEM computer like mine or should I bite the bullet and build one from scratch.

Hmm. That's really not a bad machine at all! It takes DDR3, so you can upgrade for $30 to at least 6GB RAM; maybe 9GB if it has enough slots.

Yeah a new GPU and more RAM are really all you need. I believe it has 6 DIMM slots, so you'll easily be able to take it to 9GB.
