I got my hands on a Dell OptiPlex GX1, with a P3-450 processor, and was wondering if there's any way I can upgrade the CPU, and if so, what's the top speed it will support. Thanks in advance.

Being that the motherboard is a BX based chipset,
with a BIOS update, it will accept any P3 100mhz bus CPU.

Which means:

500, 500E, 550, 550E, 600, 600E, 650E, 700E, 750E, 800E, 850E, 1000E, 1100E
(any B series is a 133Mhz bus)

Or, you can try a Slot 1 adapter that accepts Tulatin (FC-PGA 2) CPU.
Like this one from PowerLeap.
