Hello everyone.I'm petty new to this site and all this over all.I'm sort of a Gamer but don't have anything fancy.I'm the guy who buys something expensive then learns there is a better over for what you want with the same value.I'm upset but not rich so i can't just buy a new computer.Sorry the point was to ask.

this is my computer.I wanted to know if i could upgrade the CPU and put a better AMD in there and also upgrade the graphics card. And if i did that would i have to get a better PSU installed.
Guys please help. I have no idea where to go now.It would mean alot.I have to go to collge and would love a nice way to vent after lost of homework. I want to turn it into a gaming PC.

I don't want to spend more then $300.

" Might look at the 500 EVGA

and the Sapphire 280

about $250 total - then shop from there "

I love that you guys argue about that stuff...Give it to me straight!

" Here is the full information on your computer from HP: http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docId=c03782932

It says your motherboard has an FM2 socket, and the best CPU on that socket is the A10-6800K: http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docId=c03782932

It's a decent CPU and won't bottleneck any GPU enough so that you'd be wasting money on an upgrade, though it may not let the fastest GPUs run at 100% all of the time. I'm not certain it's worth upgrading from the A10-6700 you have now, though. To decide that, read this article from Tom's and see if the cost is justified for you: http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/a10-6700-a10-6800k-richland-review,3528.html

As for GPU, it will depend on your budget and whether you buy a CPU. The best AMD and Nvidia cards for the money (i.e. not necessarily the straight-up fastest thing money can buy) are the R9 290x and the GTX 970. They perform very similarly but each have ups and downs. The only real downside to the 970 is a slightly higher price (usually).

[EDIT] After looking it up, the fastest GPU your current CPU will likely run (without it being a near-total waste of money) is either the GTX 960 or the R9 280, or any slower card. If you want to get either the R9 290x or GTX 970, you should upgrade the CPU to the A10-6800K. It will still hold back those GPUs a little in certain scenarios, but the bottleneck won't be so bad that your money will go to waste. The overall machine will still attain graphics performance significantly better than you would get with the GTX 960 or R9 280.

Good luck! "

is this true?! Is that the best?
Let me know if there is hope. I played Supreme Commander 2 on all low settings and with all the AI on hard in a big map it lags soooo slow... I hate putting up with that, paid so much for a PC i should have gotten more.I can't play too many games before it starts to lag. I want to run minecraft,Don't starve, GTA 5.Stuff like that. Most steam games. Some MMO games like Luna Online.

If you wanted to get more out of your PC, you should have researched more, and posted here, BEFORE the purchase.

Edit: I looked, at the specs of your PC, and it's not all bad. AMD is a weaker CPU for gaming though. You'll need a GPU and possibly a PSU. If you were planning on upgrading the CPU too, then I would seriously look at just building an Intel i3 budget gaming rig.

The advice you got is pretty good. You could upgrade to a slightly more powerful A10 cpu but it would not be worth it. It is not the best for gaming, but if you add a discrete gpu, it should be decent. I would suggest a GT750Ti, as it is the fastet discrete gpu you can add that will run on a weak OEM power supply.

If you want to get a new PSU, you could move up to something like the nVidia GT960 or AMD 270/270x. You might also want to check to make sure they will fit in the case, most likely they will. I would not go any higher with the GPU for that cpu.

Personally though, I think I would just add a GT750Ti and call it a day. That will allow you to run most games at 1080p with decent settings, although with some of the most recent intensive games you might have to lower resolution and settings more. It will also run on your 300w power supply and is a pretty compact card so should fit the case with no problem.

Edit: A GT750Ti will cost in the neighborhood of 150.00, maybe less if you find a good sale and/or rebate.
