Has anyone ever upgraded the motherboard/CPU in a Compaq Deskpro 4000? I'd like to.. just don't know if it'll be possible. The one I have is running a P1 200 mhz and I'm thinking the board can only expand to what? a 266? I'm thinking more along the lines of a P2 400-500.. Also, anyone have any idea what kind of motherboard will fit? I'd open up the case and check it all out but I don't have physical access to it right this moment. thanks!

i think the fastest you can upgrade the DP 4000 is probably 466mhz cpu from either powerleap or evergreen (those are the only 2 names that comes up when i think about upgrading REALLY old systems and i think those the 466 is the highest either of them made)

as for mobo's.. i'm not quite sure what boards would fit properly in there... a lot of compaqs use proprietary boards or boards with proprietary headers.. probably not worth the hassle
