Upgrading 7800gtx SLI

I've been out of the PC gaming scene for a bit. I'm currently running two 7800 GTX cards in SLI with 2 Gigs of RAM and an AMD 4400+ X2.

I see that both Nvidia and ATI have some new cards out, but not sure how they compare to my SLI setup. I'm looking at BF 2412 as well as a few other games for the upgrade. Thanks!

First of all, nice system! I've got the same CPU and love it.

If you're really wanting to pull the trigger on some new video cards, the 7900GTO's would easily give you a good performance boost without a lot of money. You could go with some CrossFire setups, but since you already have an SLI motherboard I think the 7900GTO's would be best (especially if they're EVGA)

However, Nvidia's G80 is going to launch really soon, and I mean really soon. I'd honestly wait to see what cards they bring out and how they perform before I'd spend more on DX9- only video cards.

Yes, I second this advice. If you have dual 7800GTX's and have been out of touch for a while... it tells me you probably bought those GPU's when they were still hot out of the gate and that you like having the best available; which also explains why you want to upgrade what is still a damn fast setup (but not THE fastest). If those assumptions are true... listen to the advice above. It'll be well worth it.
