Upgrading 2011 MacMini server with SSD

I have a 2011 MacMini server (Macmini 5,3) and was thinking of throwing in a Microcenter 64GB SSD I have left over from a dead laptop and reinstalling OSX from scratch.

Just wondering anyone knew of any problems between the two. Will the SSD function properly (TRIM garbage collection and all that)? I believe the drive is a rebaged Adata S599 with Sandforce 1222 controller.

Hmmm...so maybe I don't need to enable TRIM anyway?

I'm not familiar with your drive, but some SandForce retailers say that they're designed to work without TRIM (OWC's Mercury series, for example).

Is that still the case now with Yosemite?
As far as I know, Apple still does not enable TRIM in OS X for non-apple ssds. So if you want TRIM, you'll need to do it yourself.

There will be no issues. You can enable TRIM if you want, but nothing is going to explode into flames if you don't.

Please go through this article. I am sure that you will get all your questions answered regarding how TRIM and Garbage collection function in SSDs.
