Upgrading 2003 to 2008

Read only domain controller is the biggest security improvement I can see. For remote sites, using a RODC may be the best solution.
 
from what i've browsed through, seems this is a significant change. i guess there will be an excuse 9need) to upgrade to 2008 in it's own right.

We are currently looking at upgrading from 2003 to 2008, but I wanted to get some input from you all regarding the two products. in our environment our windows boxes are strictly used as DC/File server/Print Server/App server. basically a one box does it all deal. Considering their use, is there much of a difference between a 2008 box versus a 2003 box running the same services? One thing to consider is we are looking at moving our workstations over to either vista or windows 7 (not in our control).

I've already come to the conclusion that there isn't much of a difference between the two (aside from RODC which sounds nifty) but isn't really a need as much as a would like. I do realize that 2008 also supports the security boundaries at the forest level, but with only one domain i really don't see that as an advantage.

anyone else have thoughts on this? personally i'm very comfortable with the 2k3 structure and really don't see the need to migrate.
 
I don't think it is essential to migrate, but 08 is better security wise and also it will be supported for longer than 2003, so those are things to consider.
