Upgrading 1.5GB to 2.0GB of ram?

This is for battlefield 2, I think I need to go up to 2GB of ram because the game keeps saying"there is a problem with your connection" and this is messing up my playing, or is this another problem, and I also play the game with everything maxed out at 1280 by 1024, thanks.

Is there anything I can do to stop it, my internet connection is tested at 5000 downstream and around 1700 upstream.

thats your internet connection not ram..

your internet connection is sporadic enough to bump yah off..

doesnt matter how fast it is if its got burps in the service..
it needs to be stable.

Assuming you have a router.

You need to forward the ports on your router to your specific computer.

Google Port Forwarding.

192.168.1.1 is your router, usually. Administrator, Administrator [User/Pass]

Also... if you are noticing slow load times, 2GB does help--if you have any tasks in the background [Firefox and Opera, especially--both are memory hogs!], 2GB frees up that last 512 for you. [I went from 1.5->2GB; and DID notice a difference.]

my airport (802.11g) is about 20 feet from this computer, so I doubt it's the problem, I have it hardwired right now to see if that's the problem.

I'm almost certain the wireless network is bottlenecking my connection like crazy.
Hard Wired:
Download Speed: 13413 kbps
Upload Speed: 1859 kbps
Wireless:
Download Speed: ~6000 kbps
Upload Speed: ~1800 kbps

if you are using encryption that will also hinder/spaz out your wireless. the best thing to game on is hard wire if you want dependability.

you can play on wireless but if it is not a good brand, set up well, and properly configured you might have some connection issues.

hope this helps!
