Upgrades.

I'm having a little bit of trouble on deciding an upgrade pathway. Namely a proc/mobo combo. I'm trying to decide between the 940 BE or the 720BE. I'm running an ASUS M2N32 SLI dlx right now which is socket AM2 only so the 940 would work, which is fine, except for I'm afraid that not having DDR3 will be a bit of a disadvantage when windows 7 releases.

As for purchasing the 720, I'd have to buy a new mobo, and depending on the mobo, new memory as well. I'm leaning toward a single GPU solution (I have an EVGA 9800GTX+ right now and is just fine for my needs), but from what I've heard here I'm kind of on the fence about ATI and Nvidia. I went purchased the Geforce card because I had driver issues in the past with one of their cards in a store bought PC that I purchased (in my younger and more unknowledgeable years XD ), but I'd like to have the option of either SLI or Xfire available to me if I want it. So chipset doesn't really matter to me. I can upgrade my GPU later.

Additionally I'd like to try to OC my proc a little bit. I've never done it before and it sounds like fun. So in addition to all of the above I'd like a nice easy over clocker that performs well and a motherboard to match. And I've read very good reviews about both the 940 and the 720, my perfered mobo manufacture is ASUS, but I'd be willing to take suggestions regarding any of the above.

I use my computer mainly for gaming, however F@H is fun too. Some WoW, but not a lot lately, DoW2, Mirror's edge, CoD, etc, my game preferences run the gamut.

Thanks,
Nalyk

I've read through the OP, but don't see any mention of budget. Am I missing this?

There also don't appear to be any actual questions being asked in the OP. More replies are likely if there is a clear, direct question to answer. :)
