Upgraded Video Card - Can't get rid of one old 3dfx reference

I just upgraded from a Banshee to a G450 Dual Head (you can see I'm not a big gamer!) and I have one problem. I uninstalled the old drivers, etc and everything works great except every time I boot up I get a RUNDLL error saying "error loading 3dfxVBps.dll - system can't find specific file" Obviously that because the file's gone!

How do I get rid of this?

Thanks!

When you change hardware in your system you should always do a clean install to avoid alot of problems. I personally recomend formating every 3 or so months to keep the system as stable as possible.

I find that if you change your video drivers to windows basic vga drivers before installing a new card, saves you from the problem your having. Did you do that before you uninstalled the banshee drivers?

A clean install of what, windows???

sure, I'll do a format when I install more RAM and a new printer - sounds like an excellent idea, can't wait!

Get off your crack pipe.

I did unstall the 3dfx drivers and switch to basic VGA first. I really don't want to have to reinstall Windows, it's been incredibly stable lately.

Any other sugestions? I know someone here can help me out.

Thanks!

Backup your registry first, then search for a line containing 3dfxvbps.dll in your registry.... then delete it.

Try running msconfig and see if there's any drivers or apps associated with the 3dfx card that are loading at startup. If there are get rid of them.
