Upgraded to Win XP. 3DMark went down 200 points. Am I missing something???

I have an Athlon 1600 with Gainward Ti200 @ 220/500. On Win Me (detonator 22.80) I used to get over 7400 points. Today I reformatted the disk and installed XP and det 27.10 - 3DMark went down to 7204. I don't know what to do. I tried installing via 4in1 and it didn't help (doing it on ME was a big improvement in frame rates). Any ideas???

200 points is not a lot to worry about you won`t even notice that in real terms in gaming however if you want you can try the latest VIA AGP 4.10 driver which I hear might be in the next VIA 4 in 1 drivers,I installed it about 6 weeks ago on my WinXP rig and it gave me a small increase in speed.

3dmark means jack really.

for what its worth its not windows, its the drivers. just cuz a driver is newer doesnt mean its always better, specially if its a beta.

try 27.42

also if ya want good scores goto 23.12 WHQL certified one. it rox.

I agree but no harm in trying to get more speed if possible ,btw the 23.12 driver is good I`ve had no problems with it and I`ve been testing it with lots of games.

You will generally lose FPS in DX games including 3Dmark going from Win9x to 2K/XP.
