yeah - same here. i ordered a radeon 8500 and it came with literally just the card in bubble wrap. since most of these are returns, ymmv on what comes with the card.

hope it works out for you - if not i hear their rma process is painless.

That's the best feeling (video card wise) - when you've been living down in the dumps for years behind the trend and you buy a high-end card that plays everything great. Good luck with the card, and don't forget to overclock the hell out of it! ;)

Yup... 8X on my FX5900 was almost identical... when I first put it in I forgot to enable 8X AGP... scored 5300 in 2k3, then 5400 with 8X AGP enabled.

Yes, look at the "Latest Computer Trauma" in my signature. They are the best, totally. Period.

I fail to equate getting a new 9700 for the price of a used one with a "trauma." :p

Dude you have a 1700+, even if it's an "A" you have 2ghz in there..

Another stick of 512 or 256 will net you a score of 4 thousane points. A BIG difference.

His bus speed is a bit lacking. But that's a whole other upgrade.

That's not hindering him from overclocking though.

He has a bunch of options.

I'm currently running a 7500 AIW and I am looking forward to upgrading to a 9600 Pro.

He has pc2100 ram. He isn't going to get much out of that. He can change the multiplyer to 12.5 if he wants, but his real dis-advantage is his 266 Bus.
