Hey, has anyone had this happen to them? I recently upgraded my iPhone SE to iOS 11.02, and now all my iMessage group chats don't display the text bar for typing or the app drawer. I literally just see a screen of the conversation, and that's it.

I've tried rebooting, to no avail. If I click the little info button in the top right of the group chat to go to the chat details, everything is grayed out. Single chat iMessages work fine, and texts to non iOS users, including group chats, work fine. It's just group iMessage chats.

I don't want to delete the group chat to see if that will fix it, as there is a lot of fun history in there, but I guess that may be the next step, unless someone has experienced this and managed to fix?

Maybe try going to Settings > Messages and turn on "Show Subject Field". That might kick it into action.

What happens if you rotate the phone?

Show subject field enabled doesn't appear to change my group chats, but it does cause a subject field to pop up in the text box for texts that are working. Rotation did not get the text box to show up. I tried deleting one of my smaller/newer group chats, and had someone from it send a text, which seemed to have fixed the problem at the cost of loss of historical data. Fortunately, I have everything mirrored on my iPad, so there's that.
