I'd had 1.5mbs (formerly SBC DSL Express package) for over a year without a problem until I've recently just upgraded to 3.0mbs and have had nothing but trouble everytime when we use the phone to call someone or answer an incoming call. The problem becomes very annoying because when the regular phone is in use, it badcially knocks out the DSL out of "Internet" service and I have to do a hard reset to get the "Internet" signal back to work every time.
I called AT&T Tech Support last night and spent over an hour with them and I basically went no where with them.
Since the new service offers twice the speed, is it possible that my DSL line filter is not good enough to block out rf or other interferences from intruding into the line?

Note: I've always had dsl line filter installed in everyline there is a phone plugged into the wall

You need to use a Whole House DSL Filter ... it installs at the point where the telephone line
first comes into your home ... it has 2 outputs .. on Unfiltered that will feed the DSL Modem
and the other which is filtered for the Voice Sets ..... you can call SBC & they will either
provide it for you or come out to install it ... you will need to run a CAT 5 cable from the
new filter to the dsl modem ... basically too many of the individual dsl filters will degrade
a dsl signal

Thanks for response. The entire house has 3 phones plugged in and they all connect to a dsl line filter. I wil check the entire lines tonight when I get home to make sure nothing gets loose or something in that manner.
