i gutted the stereo in my 2004 Z4, replaced with a new head unit, front components, amps, crossovers, etc.

I finally got around to putting some of the OEM parts I pulled out on craigslist. When I was looking up the amp, I found it listed on realoem.com new for $1,500. It's just the factory OEM amp, part number totally matches up to the amp listed for that $1,500 price.

It's in perfect working condition. I'd like to sell it and make some cash, and I have it listed for $400. Is that too cheap? If someone wants to go up to the dealer and buy one, they'd pay $1,500 and change. I didn't find many for sale on the interweb though.

I posted the ad last night and already got two inquiries by this morning. I don't know if they are legit though.

Did you have the Harman Kardon sound system fitted? That?s the BMW optional extra I have installed in my M3.

I think so. The amp is listed as the top hi-fi amp available for the car that year.

I found two that sold for $350 and $425 on ebay completed listings. I'm asking $400. If someone really needs one though, I guess my price is fair. There aren't any on ebay for sale right now either.

Scam

I usually just reply back and tell them I'm happy to accept western union or US postal money orders but nothing else, haven't gotten a reply back yet:brokenheart:

Is there something that makes a USPS money order better than a certified check? I mean, if the guy is forging it, he could forge either one right?

think with a money order you must buy them with cash, so unless you think they got their hands on a blank stack of them, it's about the safest thing out there.

yea I could. the bmw system was totally integrated. If I wanted to use anything aftermarket, it ALL had to go. So I gutted it, leaving just the factory speaker wiring in place (good quality bmw stuff). I replaced the system with a higher end Eclipse HU, a 600x1rms amp on the two subs behind the seats (kept the factory subs since they are tuned for the enclosure and sound pretty good), a high end alpine amp for the components (200x2rms), and a set of Hertz 3 way components. sounds much better, and the hertz's 6.5 woofers are insane. the midbass is crazy. So yea, it was worth it. Significantly louder too.

How could one need LOUDER speakers in a car the size of a shoe box??

They louder they can go the less easily they can distort.. Allows me to crank up the midbass without having everything else maxed out too.

You should keep it if you dont need the money. It would be handy for resale value on the car.

Yea I did alot of research first. Eclipse wasnt even my brand of choice, but they had a model that had been winning 1st in all the SQ competitions nationwide, and the model I bought was the cheapest model in that winning line. Mine still has the core cd circuitry, etc. just not as much of all the advanced time modeling stuff. It sounds amazing.

Yeah I was blown away when it was stolen and I replaced it with the top of the line Premier deck and the SQ wasn't anywhere close, even with the 13 band EQ.
