I've got an issue with OC'ing my circa summer of 2004 Rig
Vital stats: (Problem description below that)
CPU: P4 3.2E Prescott
Mobo: Asus P4P800E Deluxe (i865PE)
RAM: 2 Gigs - 2X512MB Corsair XMS TCCD DDR 400 2-2-2-5 / 2X512MB Crucail Ballistix DDR 400 2-2-2-5 (Voltages at 2.85V)
PSU: Enermax Liberty 500W (32A total 12V ; 12V1-22A, 12V2-22A)
Cooler: Zalman 9500 w AS5
GPU: Asus 9600XT 128mb (X1950PRO on the way
)
I recently updated my rig with the PSU and Cooler above (Christma/Birthday Presents) which dropped my temps from the stock cooler and TIM considerably. The new PSU also stablized my 12V rail from the previous coolmax 400W PSU with 18A on the 12V rail.
Old Temps: Idle - 45 + 2C; Load (2XPrime95) - 61-62C
New Temps: Idle - 39 + 2C; Load(2XPrime95) - 47-48C
Old 12V Rail: Idle -11.9V; Load (2XPrime95) - 11.5V (DMM - 11.7)
New 12V Rail: Idle -12.01V; Load (2XPrime95) - 11.92V
Problem:
With the good temps and voltages I get now and the fact that I have an X1950PRO coming and want to get as much out of that as I can I tried OC'ing my chip tonight.
Per an old Anandtech memory article which got to 225 FSB with 2-2-2-5 timings with both the Corsair and Ballistix ram that I'm using at 2.85V I set my FSB to 225 in the Asus "JumperFree" settings.
CPU Z verified the CPU at 3600MHZ / 900MHZ FSB quad pumped and SuperPi 2M dropped 10secs from 1m 41s to 1m 31s
CPU Z showed however that my ram was running at 150mhz/DDR300
Memtest 86 confirmed this.
My divider was set to Auto for the Ram and the Asus Ai Overclocking was set to manual.
Any idea how I've got some kind of divider running? My Divider options are Auto, 266, 320, 400, 500, 533
Thanks.
