Upgraded my front soundstage

Couple weeks ago I scored a Polk TSx150C in black for $100. Really liked the way it sounded so I went to Best Buy yesterday and bought a pair of Polk TSx110B bookshelf speakers.

Compared to my old speakers

These things rock. They sound so good I actually enjoy listening to music on my HT system now. Not to mention that they match the center so sounds are consistent in movies and games as they move across the front soundstage. Bonus: I don't have to crank my Yamaha as loud as I did with the Onkyos. I have them crossed over as 80hz vs the 120 I had the Onkyo sats at.

Now I just need a bigger subwoofer... :whiste:

Nice. Should make sure you pick up matching rears while they are still in production. (Not saying they are on the way out, just don't get left hanging...)

Rears don't have to match. L/C/R should match but rears don't need to.

That depends on what you are doing. For movie surround, it's not important that they match. For people who listen to surround music like 5.1 SACDs or DVD-Audios, matching rears make a difference.

When I first replaced my rear speakers with speakers that matched the front, I was blown away listening to Sting "All This Time". If this sort of things matters to you, it makes a very noticeable difference.

Of course, most people don't care, and the above quoted statement holds true for them.

Right now, nothing. But I'd like to put around $500 into a new one.
