4.12
3dmark01- 28800ish
3dmark03 - 12800ish
3dmark05 - 5900ish
aquamark - 79000ish

5.2
3dmark01 - 28400ish
3dmark03 - 13000ish
3dmark05 - 6100ish
aquamark - 78500ish

pretty good improvement if you ask me, even though i see a correlation in the two less gpu intensive scores drop (aqua and 01). i have no before/after experiences with gaming though, maybe you guys can give some of your own experiences if you have any?

If it plays your games at max settings fine then who cares about 3dmark?

hey thanks for that comment. i expect several others who will say the same thing. i like seeing my computer throw out concrete numbers along with playing all my games at max settings, thx.

edit: btw, this thread was intended to discuss whether or not these new drivers are an improvement or not. save me the "3dmark is useless as long as it plays ur games, blah blah". not a flamewar thread either.

Just done the math. Using a 5/6 divider with HTT=275 would give a mem speeds of 230Mhz. 230Mhz at 2-2-2-8 sounds more sane but even that is still extremely good.

How do you run 01,03 and 05 together?
Whenever I try to setup the later versions I get Sh!t from the installer, saying I have to uninstall the old one.

really, i have all 3 installed on the same partition.

and i found a benchmark increase from the 4 series to the 5 series . . . . nothing i actually noticed practically in games except HL2 runs more smoothly 😉

i keep my drivers reasonably well-updated . . . . but then tend not to upgrade untill there is 'need' i.e. i get a brand new game and/or performance is sluggish.

that's what i thought i replied to . . . all 3 of 3DMark0x versions are happily installed on the same partition.

. . . and across-the-board in ALL 3 versions of 3DMark0x i got a small benchmark boost . . . probably ~10% from the late 3 series to the early 5 series as ATI learns better how to optimize drivers for 3DMark0x
