I usually never install the shit-set drivers from the CD for the mobo but in this case for my P35 I did. Will that have an effect if I just swap out my boot drive (Vista U. 64) from a P35 to the new P45?
 
Regardless if it still appears to perform adequately, it's advisable you upgrade anyways(unless you physically cannot, in which cause I say give it a try). Or get the lateast drivers from Intel rather than the "shit-set" CD-supplied drivers.
