i just purchased a mobo/cpu combo (P4 2.4 ghz and a ECS 848P-A ) ...after installed...tried to boot into xp pro...and nothing... all it does is keep getting right t o the point where it shows the xp logo and restarts...
what could be the cause of all this ...cause is not the ps....bought new 500watts...old was 300watt...
couldn't be the mobo ...it recongzied cpu/ram/hdd...but ecs is kinda janky. please help

It's normal to see that happen when you change motherboards, unless the new motherboard is pretty similar to the old one.

What I would do is put the old motherboard and CPU back in, boot up Windows, back up my data onto CDs, DVDs or a spare hard drive, and then put my new motherboard and CPU in and reinstall Windows from scratch. If you do, here are some worm-proofing tips to keep your fresh WinXP installation from being infected by worms behind your back.

I've always had issues with ECS mobos and things like this.

Check to make sure your FSB/Clock Speed/Multiplier are correctly set... I don't know the why or the how, but this is what fixed it for me. Even still, the one I haven't ditched still have occasional hangups when starting.
