I realise this is a long shot but... my asus p5w64 ws pro motherboard won't boot after I changed the old dual core for a Q9650 quadcore and the 4gb of ddr2-667 memory for 8gb of GSKILL ddr2-1066.
It did boot again when I briefly put the old cpu/ram back in, but now after hours of trying the new components in various combinations, it won't boot at all, with anything. Ther PSU is a 600w enermax and power seems to be getting to every part of the board, everything spins/lights up that should and the board has a new battery.
I'm pretty sure it the board has latest bios asus released for it (in about 2008!) , but flashing via usb doesn't seem to work. I've tried removing everthing and powered on for 10sec to reset the board, done countles clearings of RTC ram and every combination of new / old, memory / processor and 3 graphics cards.
Any ideas?- I"m willing try anything short of a boil wash.
ps NO, this isn't an 7 year old post, just trying to get some more life out of old kit.
