I just ordered a Gigabyte KT333 motherboard last night (the one w/o RAID), but I'm stuck with my 1.2 Ghz 266 fsb T-Bird. The CPU will work with my new board but I was thinking of upgrading to an xp 1800+. If I sell my current CPU and buy the one one it'll cost me around $60 net. So should I do it or hold off for the Thoroughbred? Obviously CPU prices will drop when it comes out but I won't get as much $$ for selling my 1.2 then... advice please! Also I'm stuck with a Radeon DDR (original 32MB edition) but I'm planning to upgrade to a Geforce Ti 4200. Thanks.

ajintae,

Thats a hard one bro... Me personally, if money was a contributing factor, I would probably hold off as a 1.2GHz TBird is actually still a great processor more than able to handle MOST of what you can throw at it. Otherwise, think of it this way... if you were to get a XP processor would you really be able to tell the difference, not really unless you are talking the 2000+ or 2100+ and even then it would be only a slight visable difference.

JMHO 🙂🙂🙂🙂
